The Green County Ag Chest was organized in 1958 when the Green County Dairy Promotion Committee and the Green County Agricultural Foundation merged.

Our objective is to promote Green County, its products, its resources, and its people, especially youth and youth activities involved with home economics and agriculture.

The Green County Ag Chest sponsors many projects including:

  • Dairy Queens Program
  • Breakfast on the Farm
  • Dairy Days
  • Green County Tourism
  • 4H Clubs & FFA trips
  • State Fair Transportation
  • Scholarships

The Green County Ag Chest trailers can be seen throughout the county, southern Wisconsin, and Northern Illinois during the summer months selling homemade cream puffs, Green County Gold “cheese”, ice cream, and hearty beef and pork sandwiches.  The money earned is used to sponsor the youth of the county.

Any person is welcome to attend the Ag Chest meetings and take part in activities.

The Green County Ag Chest is proud to work with these organizations:

Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board
Green County Cooperative Extension

The Green County Ag Chest invites area girls to consider being a candidate for their Community Dairy Queen Program. To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior for the upcoming school year. You must attend the local school or have the community address or phone number of the community you wish to represent. The Community Dairy Queen is one of 11 queens that represent their community, Green County, and Wisconsin in the promotion of dairy products, resources, industries, tourism and people; especially the youth and youth organizations. The Community Dairy Queens are eligible to complete for the title of Green County Dairy Queen and Green County Dairy Princess.

The community dairy queens are required to attend monthly Green County Ag Chest Meetings, give radio reports, and write newspaper articles. They attend area fairs and festivals and promote dairy products. They support community activities; visit many new places, meet lots of people and make lifetime friends.

If you wish to run for your Community Dairy Queen or have questions, please contact your current Community Dairy Queen and your Community Queen Chairpersons.

Due to COVID 19 and Safer at Home mandates, the April and May meeting requirements are suspeneded for 2020.
