May 2017 Meeting Minutes

 

Date: Monday, May 15, 2017

Time: 7:00 PM

Place: Green County Justice Center, Monroe WI  53566

 

The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Craig Kamholz-President, Bonnie Gerner-Vice President, Sue Rieder-Secretary, and board members, Judy Gill, Ken Rankin, and Dean Reeson. Pam Burke-Treasurer was absent. Others attending were Julene Elmer and Sue Hellenbrand.

Members discussed ice cream donations for the Juda Prom and for the “The Business After 5” at the Fairgrounds.

Craig Kamholz reported the sticker removal on the big trailer was not going well. The trailer will need to be repainted or wrapped, either way it will not be done before the Breakfast on the Farm.

Board members consensually approved a Green County Ag Chest credit card for Rae Reeson-Community Dairy Queen Co-Chairperson.

 

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 7:00 PM.

 

Opening Prayer was given by Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess.

 

Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the April 2017 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the April minutes was made by Ken Rankin and seconded Sierra Helfvogt-Browntown Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Printed copies of the January through April 2017 financial report were made available.

 

Old Business:

            Correspondences/Announcements: No Correspondences were made available.

 

           

New Business:

             Marissa Vosberg spoke on behalf of the 2 members of the Green County Junior Holstein Association who will be attending the 2017 National Junior Holstein Convention in Bellevue, WA, June 27-July 1. A motion to give $250 each to Marissa Vosberg and Kelsey Cramer was made by Bonnie Gerner and seconded by Dean Reeson. Motion carried.

            Sue Hellenbrand gave an update on the Breakfast on the Farm.  Plans are falling into place. The first bus will leave the Monroe Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:45 AM and is dedicated to the workers. Bonnie Gerner encouraged people to make and donate coffee cakes.

            Rae Reeson report Dairy Days donations were coming in and plans were going well.

 

Past Queens Introductions

 

Queens present were: Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess, Stephanie James-Argyle Dairy Queen, Clarice Loeffelholz-Belleville Dairy Queen, Sierra Helfvogt-Browntown Dairy Queen, and Erin Lehr-Monticello Dairy Queen. Community Queen candidates introduced themselves.

 

County Queen Chairpersons’ report: Rae Reeson reported on past and upcoming events for the Queens and Queen Candidates.

 

Reminder, no meeting in June, the next Ag Chest meeting will be July 10 at the Albany Lions Club.

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Dean Reeson and was seconded by Sierra Helfvogt-Browntown Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

 

Meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM
