May 2018 Meeting Minutes

Date: Monday, May 14, 2018

Time: 7:00 PM

Place: Green County Justice Center, Monroe, WI

The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Craig Kamholz-President, Sue Rieder-Secretary, Pam Burke-Treasurer and board members, Ken Rankin, Dean Reeson and Diane Schlafli.  Sue Hellenbrand was also present.  Bonnie Gerner-Vice President was absent. Members present discussed preparations for the Breakfast on the Farm.  Members also discussed a letter from the State of Wisconsin in regards to charitable organizations.

A motion to donate $100 to the Alice in Dairyland Green County account was made by Dean Reeson and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried.  Pam Burke stated she will talk to the late applicant.

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 7:07 PM.

Opening Prayer was given by Paige Bittner-Green County Dairy Princess.

Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the April meeting minutes. A motion to accept the meeting minutes was made by Dean Reeson and seconded by Mikayla Brey-Belleville Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:  Pam Burke presented printed copies of the financial report from April 30-May 14 2018. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Ken Rankin and seconded by Alyssa Bailey. Motion carried.

Old Business:

            Correspondences/Announcements: A thank you notes were read by Sue Rieder.

            No addition old business discussed.

New Business:

            BOTF updates were given by Judy Gill and Sue Hellenbrand. Donations are coming in good.  Workers and attendees are encouraged to use the shuttle buses. There is a need for few more second shift workers. Thursday at 3 pm will be egg cracking the Monticello Lions Shelter.

            Dairy Days updates were given by Sue Rieder and Rae Reeson.  The 2 committees, one for the Cattle Show in Monroe and one for Dairy Days in Monticello, are working very hard for a successful Dairy Days this year.

            Craig Kamholz acknowledged this was the last meeting for the Queens and on behalf of the Green County Ag Chest, thanked them and their parents for all the good work they did for the Ag Chest and for the Queens’ Program. Lisa Behnke reported the Welcome to the Breakfast on the Farm ad will run on NBC Sunday morning at 8:40 am.

Past Queens introduced themselves.

County Queen Chairperson’s Report: Rae Reeson welcomed the candidates. Rae Reeson stated the Dairy Queens and candidates will eat together at 6 am at BOTF before starting their duties. She also encouraged them to help with the egg cracking on Thursday, May 24.

Queens present were: Paige Bittner-Green County Dairy Princess, Ainsley Krueger-Albany Dairy Queen, Mikayla Brey-Belleville Dairy Queen, Skye Hoffman-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Skylar Stanley-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Kaitlyn Fey-Browntown-Dairy Queen, Jaiden Walker-Juda Dairy Queen, Stephanie Kolden-Monroe Dairy Queen, Lindsey Pence-Monticello Dairy Queen and Hailey Raymond-New Glarus. The Queens gave their farewell speeches and introduced their community candidates.

            On behalf of all the Queen parents, Janelle Massey presented a “Thank You Basket” to Rae Reeson.

A motion to adjourn was made by Judy Gill and was seconded Paige Bittner-Gr Co Dairy Princess. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 7:54 PM

Closing Prayer was given by Jaiden Walker–Juda Dairy Queen.
