Budget Meeting Minutes
January 6th, 2020 at 6pm
Sugar River Pizza, New Glarus
Board members in attendance: President- Sue Rieder, Vice President- Dean Reeson, Treasurer- Pam Burke, Secretary- Mia Wahl, and Mike Marean
Members Absent: Chris Meier and Chris Van Dyk
Others in Attendance: Judy Gill, Sue Hellenbrand, Craig Kamholz, Beth Schaefer, Rae Reeson, and Haley Reeson
The meeting was called to order at 6 pm by President Sue Rieder
Old Business: None brought forward
Haley Reeson attended the meeting to request a contribution for the UW Oshkosh Abatement Team. They are educating student renters about the census and the need to be counted on campus, versus their parent’s residence. She asked for $200 to $300 for her part of the educating. Craig Kamholz made a motion that we give Haley $300. The motion was seconded by Pam Burke. Motion carried.
Beth Schaefer with CDPG (County Dairy Promotion Group) came to talk with us about the requirements for funding and that the fall meeting is mandatory to attend. She applauded the Ag Chest on all the work we do for the dairy industry and told us to keep up the good work.
The Alice Ladwig Memorial was discussed. Craig Kamholz made a motion to give the Monroe Hospice $250 for all the hard work and comfort they provide. The motion was seconded by Pam Burke. Motion carried.
Pam Burke presented printed copies of the past budgets and expenses.
2019 Budget Categories:
Insurance $ 6,000
Dairy Days $ 2,500
Meetings/office expenses $ 2,700
Promotions/Queens Program $ 13,000
Trailer Expense $ 8,000
WI State Fair $ 3,500
Sunshine $ 2,000
New Ice Cream Machine $ 20,000
The idea of purchasing a new Ice Cream Machine for the large trailer was discussed. Dean Reeson made a motion. The motion was seconded by Mike Marean. Motion carried.
Judy Gill and Sue Hellenbrand will research the regulations required to replace the sinks in the large trailer.
Dean made a motion to table, new counter tops for the large trailer until after the Breakfast on the Farm.
Changing the prices for the products we sell was discussed. Craig Kamholz made a motion to make ice cream $2 and sundaes $4. The motion was seconded by Sue Hellenbrand. Motion carried. Pam Burke made a motion to make sundaes $5 at Boone County and Cheese Days. The motion was seconded by Judy Gill. Motion carried. Dean reason made a motion to make ice cream cups $3 at Boone County and Cheese Days. The motion was seconded by Sue Hellenbrand. Motion carried. Dean Reeson also made a motion to have cheese sandwiches at $5 and meat sandwiches at $6. The motion was seconded by Craig Kamholz. Motion carried.
