August 18, 2014 Meeting Minutes

Date: Monday, August 18, 2014

Time: 8:00 PM

Place: Green county Justice Center, Monroe, WI  53566

Board met at 7:30 PM. 

Board Members in Attendance: President, Craig Kamholz; Vice-President, Jeff Ditzenberger; Secretary, Sue Rieder; Treasurer, Pam Burke; Judy Gill, Bonnie Gerner, and Julene Elmer

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Kamholz at 8:10 PM.

The opening prayer was given by Sadie McDermott-Albany Dairy Queen.

Secretary’s report: July 7, 2014 meeting minutes were read by Sue Rieder. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Judy Gill. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Sheet for July 2014. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Bonnie Gerner. Motion carried.

Queens present were: Kelsey Cramer -Green County Dairy Queen; Haley Reeson-Green County Dairy Princess; Sayde McDermott-Albany; Jenna Langmeier-Argyle Dairy Queen; Ashley Shilling-Blanchardville Dairy Queen; Cheyanna Becherer- Brodhead Dairy Queen; Alizabeth Grady-Brooklyn Dairy Queen; Amanda McDermott-Browntown; Crista Hale-Juda Dairy Queen; Emma Peterson-Monroe; and Kallista Baebler-Monticello Dairy Queen and Rebecca Barr-New Glarus Dairy Queen.

Past Dairy Queens introduced themselves.

County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke.

Old Business:

Correspondences and Announcements: Thank You notes from scholarship winners; a Dairy Days t-shirt and cash premium winner and  from the 2014-2015 Dairy Queens for the trip to the States Fair were read by Sue Rieder. Sue Rieder also presented the Green County Ag Chest a Certificate of Appreciation from the Brooklyn Area Chamber of Commerce sponsoring Green County Dairy Days in Brooklyn.

Craig Kamholz stated it was a successful Green County Fair. The Dairy Queens reported the State Fair was a blast.  Craig Kamholz thanked Judy Gill, Julene Elmer and Bonnie Gerner for organizing the volunteer list and stepping in when needed.

Julene Elmer, Judy Gill, and Bonnie Gerner sang their “I’m A Little Cream Puff” song.

No old business motions were brought before the board.

New Business:

Announcements and discussions:

Bonnie Gerner is requesting volunteers to work the Roscoe Festival and Cheese Days.

No new business motions were brought before the board.

Other items brought forth by the members:

            Craig Kamholz expressed his appreciation for Clare Gietzel’s work cleaning the trailers. She made dealing with the trailers this summer “effortless.”

Closing Prayer:  Jenna Langmeier – Argyle Dairy Queen

A motion to adjourn was made Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Kathy Baebler. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM
