February 24 2014 Meeting Minutes

Place: Green County Justice Center, Monroe, WI 53566
Board met at 7:30 PM. Discussion items: scholarships, insurance is up to date, Annual Awards Banquet date change and possible breakfast during Cheese Days.
Board Members in Attendance: President, Craig Kamholz; Vice-President, Jeff Ditzenberger; Secretary, Sue Rieder; Treasurer, Pam Burke; Judy Gill, Bonnie Gerner, and Sue Hellenbrand.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Kamholz.
The opening prayer was given by Whitney Disch-Monroe Dairy Queen.
Secretary’s report: November 25, 2013 meeting minutes were read by Sue Rieder. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Sue Hellenbrand. Motion carried. Sue Rieder read the minutes from the January 13, 2014 Budget Meeting. Minutes were approved with corrections by consensual voice vote.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Sheet from December 1, 2013 through February 24, 2014. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Bonnie Gerner. Motion carried. Pam Burke presented printed copies of the 2014 Green County Ag Chest budget.
Queens Reports were given by Brooke Bidlingmaier-Green County Princess; Allison Granberg-Argyle; Rachel Elsing-Belleville; Santana Green-Browntown; Camilla Klar-Juda and Whitney Disch-Monroe
Past Dairy Queens introduced themselves.
County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke.
Upcoming Queens Activities: St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Monroe before bowling party and Ag Chest meeting; New Glarus Home request for Queens; April 5, Business after 5; and April 26, Angels Among Us.
Queen candidates are encouraged attend the May 12 Ag Chest Meeting. Judging is planned for May 17.
Correspondences and Announcements: Sue Rieder read thank notes from Kaitlynn Heath and Alyssa Bailey; the family of John Wegmueller; and Sharlene Swedlund. Sue Hellenbrand gave a verbal thank and Bonnie Gerner reported on Wayne Monte’s recovery.
No old business motions were brought before the board.
Announcements and discussions: The 2014 Breakfast on the Farm will be May 31 at the Roe Farms Partnership, N5670 Gutzmer Road, Monticello. The host families are Dan and Sally Roe and Natalie, Nick and Alex; and Don and Karen Roe.
People wanting to donate a hog to the Breakfast are to call Dennis Hoesly at Hoesly’s Meats, Inc. at 605-527-2513. 7 hogs are needed. The Breakfast on the Farm Committee plans to meet sometime mid-March.
Jeff Ditzenberger stated the Monroe FFA Alumni farm toy show is March 9.
Pam Burke stated a fund raiser for the John Klossner Memorial will be the Pizza Hut on Sunday, April 6 from 11:30 M – 1:30 PM.
Next month’s meeting will be Monday, March 17 at Turner Hall. The Queens will participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 5:15 PM and will gather for bowling at Turner Hall 1 hour after the parade.
No new business motions were brought before the board.
