Green County Ag Chest

August 3 2015 Meeting Minutes

 

Date: Monday, August 3, 2015

Time: 8:00 PM

Place: Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St. Monroe, WI 53566

 

The Board met at 7:30 PM. Board members in attendance were President Craig Kamholz, Vice President Jeff Ditzenberger, Treasurer Pam Burke, Bonnie Gerner, and Judy Gill.

 

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Kamholz at 8:08 PM.

 

The opening prayer was given by Brittany Janes—Albany Dairy Queen

 

Secretary’s Report: Members in attendance were directed to the website for the July 6, 2015 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Vice President Ditzenberger and seconded by Lauren Blumer. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the July 6 through August 3, 2015 profit and loss sheet and printed copies of the balance sheet as of August 3, 2015. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Vice President Ditzenberger and seconded by Ashley Judd. Motion carried.

 

 Five Past Queens introduced themselves.

 

Queens present were Lauren Blumer- Green County Dairy Queen, Natalie Gefke- Green County Dairy Princess, Brittany Janes- Albany, Hannah James- Argyle, Denise Rankin- Belleville, Ninah McKeon- Blanchardville, Sarah Rowley- Brodhead, Kajal Russell- Brooklyn, Molly Minder- Browntown, Charlayna DeVoe- Juda, Mia Wahl- Monroe, Karly Ready- Monticello, and Ashley Judd- New Glarus.

 

County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke. Queens have been busy preparing for State Fair. Upcoming events include Wisconsin State Fair, Brodhead Covered Bridge Days, and Boone County Fair. A queens meeting was planned for August 31st.

                -President Kamholz congratulated the Dairy Queens on a great month, commenting on their evident growth.

 

Correspondences and Announcements: Thank you notes were read from past queens, state fair exhibitors, scholarship recipients, and Albany car show participants. Announcements included information about state fair. There is also a potential need for help at Boone Co. on August 16th.

 

Old Business: None

 

New Business:

Food for America- Brodhead event for Dairy Queens- will be held in September

Green County Fall Nationals welcome the Ag Chest trailer but requested a donation on September 26th. A motion to donate $500 to Green County Fall Nationals was made by Bonnie Gerner and seconded by Vice President Ditzenberger. Motion carried.

                -Volunteers for this event will be needed from 11:30-7 on the 26th of September.

Lauren Blumer and Charlayna DeVoe gave an update on their Media event and what they learned about social media.

 

A motion to Adjourn was made by Vice President Ditzenberger and was seconded by Karly Ready. Motion carried.

 

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM

 

The closing prayer was read by Denise Rankin—Belleville Dairy Queen.
