July 6 2015 Meeting Minutes

Place: Albany Lions Club, 402 N. Cincinnati St., Albany, WI 53502
The Board met at 7:30 PM. Members in Attendance: President, Craig Kamholz; Secretary, Sue Rieder; Treasurer, Pam Burke; Julene Elmer, Bonnie Gerner and Judy Gill.
Discussion items: Change the August meeting date to Monday the 3rd. Donations to the 4-H livestock exhibitors at the State Fair.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Kamholz at 8:10 PM.
The opening prayer: Lauren Blumer– Green County Dairy Queen
Secretary’s report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the May 11, 2015 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Clare Gietzel and seconded by Bonnie Gerner. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the May 11 through July 6, 2015 Profit and Loss sheet and printed copies of the Balance Sheet as of July 6, 2015. Total liabilities and Equity is $16,750.64. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Alyssa Bailey and seconded by Haley Reeson. Motion carried.
Past Queens introduced themselves.
Queens present were Lauren Blumer-Green County Dairy Queen, Natalie Gefke-Green County Dairy Princess, Brittany Janes-Albany Dairy Queen, Hannah James-Argyle Dairy Queen, Denise Rankin-Belleville Dairy Queen, Ninah Mckeon-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Sarah Rowley-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Molly Minder-Browntown Dairy Queen, Charlayna DeVoe-Juda Dairy Queen, Mia Wahl-Monroe Dairy Queen, Karly Reay-Monticello Dairy Queen and Ashley Judd-New Glarus Dairy Queen.
Community Dairy Queen candidates introduced themselves.
County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke. It has been a busy time with judging, Dairy Days, parades and festivals. Future events include Green County Fair, Wisconsin State Fair and Boone County Fair.
Judy Gill stated the Dairy Days committee received good feedback on the Brunch. Judy Gill stated the account is not closed yet, but it looks like the Breakfast on the Farm cleared about $12,000. Craig Kamholz stated 200 plat books are available for sale. Have sold 20 books so far.
Correspondences and Announcements: There were too numerous thank you notes to read during the meeting. They were available for reading after the meeting.
Announcements and discussions: Haley Reeson along with Jeff Mahlkuch presented information on the Dairy project kids going to the Wisconsin State Fair. There are 18 kids going with 38 animals. The numbers may be down, but the budget is $7,000. The kids ask local businesses for donations. By consensual vote, the Ag Chest will donate $1500 to the State Fair Dairy Project Budget and donate $30 to each 4-H livestock exhibitor at the State Fair.
Bonnie Gerner discussed trailer help for the Boone County Fair. Bonnie stated past queens are already asking to help.
Queens will be attending the Modernization Tour on August 20. They will be handing out cheese.
The August meeting will be Monday the 3rd at the Justice Center if available. Sue Rieder will make arrangements.
