February Meeting Minutes
Date: Monday, February 29, 2016
Time: 8:00 P.M.
Place: Albany Lions
The board did not meet prior to meeting.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by Vice President Jeff Ditzenberger at 8:00.
Board members present were: VP-Jeff Ditzenberger, Treasurer-Pam Burke, and Directors-Bonnie Gerner and Julene Elmer. Julene Elmer will be taking the minutes in place of the absence of Sue Rieder.
The opening prayer was given by Kajal Russell, Brooklyn Dairy Queen.
Secretary’s Report-Sue Rieder was absent, so Julene Elmer handed out printed copies of the November 2015 minutes. Minutes approved by Karly Ready, and seconded by Lauren Blumer.
Treasurer’s Report-Pam Burke handed out a printed copy of the treasurer’s report. Karly Ready made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, and seconded by Ashley Judd. Motion carried
Past Queens introduced themselves.
Queens present were: Lauren Blumer-Green County Dairy Queen, Natalie Gefke-Green County Princess, Brittany Janes-Albany, Denise Rankin-Belleville, Kajal Russell-Brooklyn, Molly Minder-Browntown, Charlayna DeVoe-Juda, Mia Wahl-Monroe, Karly Ready-Monticello, Ashley Judd-New Glarus, Hannah James-Argyle, and Sarah Rowley-Brodhead.
County Queen’s Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke-Future activities are: Ag in the Classroom, Angels Among Us, and the State Champion Grilled Cheese Contest.
Correspondence & Announcements-None
The 2016 meeting and events calendar was handed out. Bonnie stated to add the event Cows on Concourse on June 4th. Karly Ready approved the calendar and it was seconded by Lauren Blumer. Motion carried.
2016 Budget-Pam handed out the minutes and the proposed 2016 Budget for the Green County Ag Chest. Mel Judd approved the budget and it was seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried.
Breakfast on the Farm report was given by Julene Elmer. We had our first meeting and we are just in the planning stages. The Breakfast on the Farm will be on May 27th at the Jeglum Farm in Blanchardville.
Dairy Day report was given by Tami Woller. They have just setting up committees. June 18, 2016 will be the cattle show at the Monroe Fair grounds. On June 25, 2016 will be the breakfast and then a parade. More details next month.
Dairy Days checking account-The Green County Ag Chest board decided that it would be in the best interest to open a checking account and monitor by the treasurer Pam Burke. Pam Burke and Craig Kamholz will both be signers on the account. It is very difficult to open up an account year after year. Hailey Reeson made a motion to open an account for the Dairy Days and Tami Woller seconded it. Motion carried.
Scholarship information was discussed. The scholarship is due on April 1st.
Jeff Ditzenberger made an announcement that this is his last year as Vice President.
Argyle Dairy Queen-Hannah James was asked for a donation to the Argyle FFA Alumni because of the money they give to her chapter. She was told that if her Chapter is going to events, her chapter should come to the board for a donation.
A motion to adjourn was made by Karley Ready and seconded by Lauren Blumer. Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:33.
