Green County Ag Chest

July 11 2016 Meeting Minutes

Date: Monday, July 11, 2016

Time: 8:00 PM

Place: Albany Lions Club, 402 N. Cincinnati St., Albany, WI  53502

The Board met at 7:30 PM. Members in Attendance: Craig Kamholz-President; Sue Rieder-secretary and board members, Bonnie Gerner and Judy Gill.

Discussion items: Jeglum scholarship application, Breakfast and Dairy Days. A post BOTF meeting and dinner was discussed.  Sue Rieder will work on this. Re-lettering the trailer discussed. Fees for the trailer discussed. August meeting date discussed.

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Kamholz at 8:12 PM.

The opening prayer: Libby Beck– Green County Dairy Queen

Secretary’s report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the May 16, 2016 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the minutes with corrections was made by Bonnie Gerner and seconded by Judy Gill. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the May 16 through July 11, 2016 Profit and Loss sheet and printed copies of the Balance Sheet as of July 11, 2016. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Elizabeth McGuire- Brodhead Dairy Queen and seconded by Brielle Hayden-Monroe Dairy Queen.  Motion carried.

Past Queens introduced themselves.

Queens present were Libby Beck-Green County Dairy Queen, Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess, Stephanie James-Argyle Dairy Queen, Clarice Loeffelholz-Belleville Dairy Queen, Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Sierra Helfvogt-Browntown Dairy Queen, Sharlene Swedlund-Juda Dairy Queen, Brielle Hayden-Monroe Dairy Queen, and Erin Lehr-Monticello Dairy Queen.

County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke. It is a busy time with Green County Fair, Wisconsin State Fair and Boone County Fair. The queens are also scheduled for WEKZ training, etc.

Old Business:

Tammy Woller presented the Dairy Day wrap up information.

Correspondences and Announcements: There were too numerous thank you notes to read during the meeting. They were passed around during the meeting. P.J. Francis from the Hometown Herald Newspaper gave a CD of photos from the Albany YesterYear Parade and Albany Dairy Queen Crowning on May 28, 2016. Sue Rieder will work on getting uploaded to the website.

New Business:

Announcements and discussions: Pam Burke and Bonnie Gerner are co-ordinating workers for the trailer at the Green County Fair. Shifts will be 10 AM – 2 PM, 2 PM – 5 PM, and 5 PM – close.  Wisconsin State Fair for the Queens will be one day on August 9. Pam Burke will be assigning House of Moo shifts.

Clare Gietzel is the winner of the Jeglum Scholarship for 2016.

Haley Reeson representing the Green County Dairy Project Exhibitors reported on the Dairy project kids going to the Wisconsin State Fair. There are 21 kids going with 44 animals. The numbers are up a little. It was reported the Dairy Project has created its own non-profit, thus the money they raise stays in the Dairy Project and not the 4-H general fund. A motion to give $800 to the Dairy Project was made by Bonnier Gerner and seconded by Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

Brielle Hayden-Monroe Dairy Queen along with Mia Wahl and Josie Eberle presented information the FFA Washington Leadership conference they will be attending the end of July. A motion to give $600 ($200 for each girl) to cover their trip expenses was made by Judy Gill and seconded by Sharlene Swedlund-Juda Dairy Queen.  Motion carried

A consensual motion to adjourn was made. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM
