Green County Ag Chest

November 2016 Meeting Minutes

 

Date: Monday, November 28, 2016

Time: 6:00 PM

Place: Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St. Monroe, WI 53566

 

The Board met at 5:35 PM. Board members in attendance were President- Craig Kamholz, Vice-President-Jeff Ditzenberger, Secretary- Sue Rieder, Treasurer-Pam Burke, Julene Elmer, Bonnie Gerner, and Judy Gill. Members discussed the big trailer. Wayne Monte will store it for the winter. Plans are to have the signage re-done in April. Craig Kamholz will ask Clare Gietzel to research artwork. Budget meeting will be January 9, 2017 at Sugar River Pizza in New Glarus.

 

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 6:05 pm.

 

The opening prayer was given by Clarice Loeffelholz—Bellevile Dairy Queen

 

Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the October 24, 2016 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the minutes with name and typo corrections was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Clare Gietzel. Motion approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke read the treasurer’s report. The balance in regular checking is $31,806.93; the Jeglum account is $2002.38; the Dairy Days account is $1748.69 and the BOTF account is $16,169.58. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Erin Lehr-Monticello Dairy Queen.

 

Old Business:

                Correspondences and Announcements: Thank you notes were read.

                Craig Kamholz reported Wayne Monte is keeping the trailer at his place this winter. It is easier to              get to there.  Plans are to get the trailer out in April and redo the signage. Clare Gietzel will       research new art work for the trailer.

                Bonnie Gerner thanked the Ag Chest members for helping in the trailer over Cheese Days.

 

New Business:

                The members present were reminded that you have to be 18 years old or older to vote in the   election of officers.

                Jeff Ditzenberger announced he will not seek re-election to the board.

               

A motion nominate to Dean Reeson for Vice-President was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and seconded by Rae Reeson. Motion carried. A motion to nominate Bonnie Gerner for Vice-President was made by Judy Gill and seconded by Dean Reeson. Motion carried. A motion to close the nominations and vote by paper ballots was made by Clare Gietzel and seconded Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen. Motion carried. Ballots counted and Bonnie Gerner was elected Vice-President.  A motion to nominate Pam Burke for treasurer was made by Rae Reeson and seconded by Sue Hellenbrand. A motion to close the nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Pam Burke was made by Clare Gietzel and seconded by Emily Streiff-Green County Princess. Motion carried. Pam Burke was elected treasurer. A motion to nominate Dean Reeson to the Board of Directors was made by Sue Hellenbrand and seconded by Julene Elmer. Motion carried. A motion to nominate Ken Rankin to the Board of Directors was made by Judy Gill and seconded by Clare Gietzel. Motion carried. A motion to close the nominations and a cast a unanimous ballot for Dean Reeson and Ken Rankin was made by Clare Gietzel and seconded by Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

 

The Budget meeting will be January 9 at 6 pm at Sugar River Pizza in New Glarus.

 

It is recommended to start the meetings at 7 pm, with the Board of Directors at 6:30 pm. Due to the earlier start times, the Queens portion of the meeting will be moved to later on the agenda.

 

A motion to donate about 200 small cartons of milk for the Belleville PTA’s Meet and Greet Santa was made by Bonnie Gerner and seconded by Green County Dairy Queen. Motion carried.

 

Jeff Ditzenberger encouraged the members present to help recruit new members to the Ag Chest. Members are encouraged to invite new people to our meetings.

 

Past Queens introduced themselves.

 

Queens present were Libby Beck- Green County Dairy Queen, Emily Streiff- Green County Dairy Princess, Clarice Loeffelholz- Belleville, Samantha Homstrom-Blanchardville, Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead, Madeline Halverson-Brooklyn, Sharlene Swedlund-Juda, Brielle Hayden- Monroe, and Erin Lehr- Monticello.

 

County Queens’ Chairperson Report was given by Pam Burke. The Queens have been busy with HOSPICE, Christmas parades in Monroe and Brodhead, the New Glarus Home party and grocery promos.

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Jeff Ditzenberger and was seconded by Bonnie Gerner. Motion carried.

 

Meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM

 

The closing prayer was given by Erin Lehr-Monticello Dairy Queen.
