April 2017 Meeting Minutes

Place: Albany Lions Club, 402 Cincinnati Street, Albany, WI 53502
The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Bonnie Gerner-Vice President, Sue Rieder-secretary, Pam Burke-treasurer, and board members, Judy Gill, Ken Rankin, and Dean Reeson. Craig Kamholz-President was absent. Others attending were Sue Hellenbrand and Wayne Monte. Members discussed the busses for BOTF on drop off and pick up on the Elmer Road; the Ag Chest trailer will not be going to the Cows on the Concourse due to construction on the Square; future storage to the trailers; the credit cards; and scholarships.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by Vice-President Bonnie Gerner at 7:10 PM.
The opening prayer was given by Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess.
Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the March 2017 meeting minutes. A motion to accept the March minutes was made by Ken Rankin and seconded Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Printed copies of the January through April 2017 financial report were made available. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen and seconded by Sierra Helfvogt-Browntown Dairy Queen. Motion carried.
Correspondences/Announcements: No Correspondences were made available. Bonnie Gerner-Vice President announced the trailer would not be going to Cows on the Concourse this year due to construction around the Square.
Sue Hellenbrand and Judy Gill reported the next meeting for BOTF is May 6 at the farm starting at 11 AM. Things are going good. The food has been ordered. Egg cracking will be May 25 at 3 PM. BOTF posters are available and the Queens are encouraged to put them up around their communities. Bus pick up sites will be Walmart in Monroe, the Albany Lions and the New Glarus HS. This information will be published in the local papers the week before. Encourage people to set their GPS for Hwy 104 and Elmer Road.
Dean Reeson reported registration for the Dairy Day Cattle Show on June 17 will be from 7:30-9:30 AM. Judging starts at 9:30 AM.
Past Queens Introduction
Queens present were: Libby Beck-Green County Dairy Queen, Emily Streiff-Green County Dairy Princess, Stephanie James-Argyle Dairy Queen, Clarice Loeffelholz-Belleville Dairy Queen, Samantha Holmstrom-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Elizabeth McGuire-Brodhead Dairy Queen and Brielle Hayden-Monroe Dairy Queen. Communities Queen candidates introduced themselves.
County Queen Chairpersons’ report: Pam Burke and Rae Reeson reported past on an event, Angels Among Us, and upcoming events i.e. the National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Completion in Dodgeville and more scrap booking days for the Queens.
A motion to adjourn was made by Dean Reeson and was seconded by Libby Beck-Green County Dairy Queen. Motion carried.
