March 2018 Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

The Board of Directors meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 6:52 PM.
Members present: President- Craig Kamholz, Vice-President-Bonnie Gerner, Secretary- Sue Rieder, Treasurer-Pam Burke, Ken Rankin, Dean Reeson, and Diane Schlafli and Queens Chairperson-Rae Reeson.
Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the January meeting minutes written by Rae Reeson. A motion to accept the January meeting minutes was made by Dean Reeson and seconded by Bonnie Gerner. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the financial report from January 29 – March 26, 2018. A motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Ken Rankin and seconded by Dean Reeson. Motion carried.
Queen’s Chairperson Report: Rae Reeson reported the Queens’ Picture Day will be April 8 starting at 10:30 am at Zwingli UCC in Monticello. Rene Eickelkraut will be the photographer. Each Queen will receive an 8X10 photo. The $300 cost will be covered by the Queens Program budget.
They Brodhead Library is requesting Queens and possibly the Ag Chest trailer July 29.
Dairy Promotions are all done. This year promotions were done in kindergarten classrooms. Rae Reeson expressed thank you the Milk Marketing Board for the promotion materials.
May 20 will be the Community Dairy Queen Judging at the Green County Justice Center. June 22 will be the County Queen and Princess Judging from 8 am – 5 pm starting at Zwingli UCC in Monticello. The Luncheon will be served by the Monticello Lioness. Rae Reeson stated she is working with the community chairpersons for their crowning dates.
April 9 will be the scholarship meeting at Bonnie Gerner’s. 6 scholarship applications have been received so far.
A motion to give a $50 memorial gift to the Samaritan’s Purse/Monroe Bible Church in honor of Kathryn Rufer was made by Bonnie Gerner and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried.
A motion to purchase a people hauler for $5,000 was made by Sue Rieder and seconded by Rae Reeson. Motion carried.
Breakfast on the Farm discussion was where to locate the entertainment.
Dairy Days discussion was Sally Roe will manage the checkbook. Paige Dilley has the Dairy Days Cattle Show binder from previous years. Craig Kamholz will contact Becky Granberg for the Dairy Days Banquet/Parade binder.
A trailer for hauling BOTF equipment was discussed. Decision put on hold for after BOTF.
Alice in Dairyland discussion was the promotion account.
A motion to open a Green County Ag Chest Promotions checking account with a debit card authorizing Craig Kamholz, Pam Burke and Judy Gill as 3 of the 2 required signatures was made by Dean Reeson and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried.
A motion to adjourn was made by Dean Reeson and was seconded by Pam Burke. Motion carried.
