November 2018 Meeting Minutes

Time: 7:00 PM
Place: Green County Justice Center, Monroe WI 53566
The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Craig Kamholz-President, Sue Rieder-Secretary, Pam Burke-Treasurer and board members, Ken Rankin, Dean Reeson, and Diane Schlafli. Bonnie Gerner-Vice President was absent. Members present discussed that trailers are getting ready to be put away and there are 3 boxes of cream puffs that need to be gone. Members will check with Rae Reeson if there any upcoming events that they can be donated to or else they will go to a local nursing home. Pam Burke has the EIN for the credit cards. Dean Reeson requested a people hauler for the parade on Friday. The Ag Chest was contacted by Hotcakes on the Go, LLC in regards to serving pancakes at the 2019 BOTF. Members stated we have a good system for the BOTF menu and will stay with it. Sue Rieder will relay the Ag Chest response to Scott Ritger of Hotcakes on the Go, LLC.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 7:00 PM.
Opening Prayer was given by Averey Marean-Albany Dairy Queen.
Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder read the October meeting minutes. A motion to accept the October meeting minutes was made by Ken Rankin and seconded by Dean Reeson. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the treasurer’s report.
Correspondences/Announcements: Judy Gill reported over 200 cards were sent to Bonnie Gerner. Judy said, “It made Bonnie’s day.”
Pam Burked reported the Alice in Dairyland October event was canceled. The committed continues to look for donations and tour sites. The Christmas tree cutting event was November 15 and made “The Country Today” newspaper.
The BOTF committee will be setting a date soon to meet.
Election of officers:
Craig Kamholz reminded those attending the meeting that 18 years old and older are eligible to vote. Persons attending 2 or Ag Chest meetings are eligible to run for office.
Bonnie Gerner has choice not to run again for Vice-President. A motion nominate to Pam Burke for Vice-President was made, but she declined the position. A motion to nominate Sue Rieder for Vice-President was made by Ken Rankin and seconded by Bobbie Stricker. A motion to close the nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Sue Rieder was made by Rae Reeson and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried. Sue Rieder was elected Vice-President.
A motion to nominate Diane Schlafli for Secretary was made by Sue Rieder and seconded by Becky Kamholz. A motion to close the nominations and a cast a unanimous ballot for Diane Schlafli was made by Rae Reeson and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried. Diane Schlafli was elected Secretary.
A motion to nominate Pam Burked as Treasurer was made by Sue Rieder and seconded by Rebecca Kamholz. A motion to close the nominations and a cast a unanimous ballot for Pam Burke was made by Bobbie Stricker and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried. Pam Burke was elected Treasurer.
Dean Reeson, Chris Van Dyk, Mia Wahl and Linda Wahl all accepted nominations to run for 3 Board of Directors positions. After a count of the ballots, Dean Reeson, Chris Van Dyk and Mia Wahl were the top vote getters. Dean Reeson will complete the term vacated by Diane Schlafli’s election as Secretary.
Past Queens Introductions
County Queen Chairperson’s Report: Rae Reeson reported the Queens have been busy with Elder Care visits, Dairy Promotions and Caroling. The pictures have been done for the bill board and with the BOTF family. Upcoming events are the Holiday Pizza Party and scrapbooking in January. Browntown will host the 2019 Dairy Days with June 15 as the Cattle Show and June 21-22 as judging/crowning dates. 2 Queens will attend the MMB meeting.
Queens present were: Brenna Meier-Green County Dairy Queen, Emily Makos-Green County Dairy Princess, Averey Marean-Albany Dairy Queen, Olivia Isely-Argyle Dairy Queen, Emma Stietz-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Rileigh Powers-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Ivy Horn-Brooklyn Dairy Queen, Emma Stricker-Browntown-Dairy Queen, Eva Van Dyk-Monroe Dairy Queen, and Sarah Blumer-Monticello Dairy Queen. Queens sang “On the First Day of Christmas the Ag Chest gave to Me.”
Emily Makos-Green County Dairy Princess presented a certificate from the 2018 Wisconsin Dairy Excellence Award to the Green County Ag Chest and a $500 grant.
A motion to adjourn was made by Dean Reeson and was seconded by Rileigh Powers-Brodhead Dairy Queen. Motion carried.
