Green County Ag Chest
April 2019 Meeting Minutes
Date: Monday, April 29, 2019
Time: 7:00 PM
Place: Albany Lions Club, Albany, WI
Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM.
Members present were: Craig Kamholz-President, Sue Rieder-Vice President, Diane
Schlafli-Secretary, Pam Burke-Treasurer and board members-Dean Reeson, Chris Van Dyk and
Mia Wahl.
Contest to hang up Green Co BOTF posters:
open to current queens. Prize money given by Craig Kamholz.
$100 for 1st (most posters)
$50 for 2nd
Must post a photo with each poster and tag Rae Reeson on Facebook
T-shirts for all 4-H exhibitors at the fair:
Dean Reason is working on getting pricing together, cost will be split between JMB Rural Ins
(Craig) and the Ag Chest as both of the logos will be printed on the back of the t-shirts. There
are 400-500 exhibitors at the fair. Motion was made by Sue Rieder and was seconded by Diane
Schlafli to move forward with this donation.
Dane Co BOTF:
Mike Marean, from the Dane Co BOTF committee, asked to use our people haulers, which are
being stored at Joe Schwartzenberger’s, for their breakfast. He was granted permission. The
Dane Co BOTF will be held on June 8th. They also asked to use both ice cream trailers. It was
discussed and will be charged $500 to use both trailers at their breakfast. They must use
Mark’s product in the ice cream machines.
Alice in Dairyland tickets for queen:
7 needed for the Friday night Q&A at Albany Lions
2 needed for the Saturday night finals at Turner Hall
Haley Reeson and Mia Wahl will be helping with running errands for the BOTF.
Lafayette Co BOTF:
The breakfast will be held at Cottonwood Dairy in Wiota on June 8th. The committee
requested to use our egg cookers for their event. It was discussed and they were granted
permission.
Ice Cream Cones:
There was a discussion about having ice cream cones this year in the trailers. They will need to
be the wrapped kind. Will look into where we can purchased them.
March Board minutes were approved. Motion by Dean Reeson, seconded by Chris Van Dyk.
Board meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.

The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig
Kamholz at 7:07PM.
Opening Prayer was given by Emma Stietz-Blanchardville Dairy Queen.
Secretary’s Report: Diane Schlafli presented printed copies of the March Board Meeting
minutes. They were approved during the earlier board meeting by Dean and Chris.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the financial report from February
4-April 29, 2019. The financial report was accepted as presented.
Old Business:
Correspondences/Announcements: A thank you note from the county dairy judging
team was read by Diane Schlafli. Pam Burke stated scholarship applications were due by April
1st and we received 15 this year.
New Business:
BOTF updates were given by Judy Gill and Sue Hellenbrand. Donations are coming in
good, planning is going well, family has been wonderful to work with, all food is ordered, and
the all the pork we need is in for this year. The posters are being hung up by dairy queens.
There is a need for coffee cakes, but worker slots are filling up. See Sue or Bonnie if you’re
interested in working at the breakfast. Leftover food will go to dairy days, honor flight, and
local food pantry. The next meeting is May 6 at 6:00 PM at Hawk’s Mill.
Dairy Days updates were given by Pam Lawver. Donations are coming in good, planning
for the events is moving along. Volunteers are still needed, see Pam if interested. The next
meeting is May 16 at 6:30 PM at The Bull Pen.
Past Queens introduced themselves.
County Queen Chairperson’s Report: Rae Reeson welcomed the candidates. Rae reported the
billboard was up and portraits have been finished. Rae thanked the Milk Marketing Board and
Angie Edge for donating books, A Farm of Many Colors, to Kindergarten students in Green
County. May 18 is the Community Dairy Queens interviews/judging. Crowning dates are
posted. Rae talked about the queen's duties at the upcoming Alice events and informed the
group that the queens have been invited to Cows on the Concourse.
Queens present were: Brenna Meier-Green County Dairy Queen, Averey Marean-Albany Dairy
Queen, Emma Stietz-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Rileigh Powers-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Ivy
Horn-Brooklyn Dairy Queen, Emma Stricker-Browntown-Dairy Queen, Eva Van Dyk-Monroe
Dairy Queen and Libby Fuller-New Glarus. Some of the queens gave their farewell speeches
and stated their favorite events from the past year. They also introduced their candidates.
Craig Kamholz thanked the queens for all their hard work this past year. He stated they have all
grown in confidence this past year and was happy they had taken this opportunity. He also
thanked parents for their time and commitment to the program. Parents also spoke about the
positive changes they have noticed in their daughters.
A motion to adjourn was made by Laurie Fuller and was seconded by Chris Meier. Motion
carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:42 PM.
Closing Prayer was given by Eva Van Dyk–Monroe Dairy Queen.
