July 2019 Meeting Minutes

Place: Albany Lions Club, 402 N. Cincinnati St., Albany, WI
The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Craig Kamholz-President,
Sue Rieder-Vice-President, Sue, Pam Burke-Treasurer and board members, Dean Reeson, Chris Van Dyk and Mia Wahl. Diane Schlafli-secretary was absent.
A motion to approve the June 10 Board of Directors meeting minutes was made by Chris Van Dyk and seconded by Mia Wahl. Motion carried.
Members present discussed cream puff making for Green County Fair This will Saturday, July 13 at the Albany Lions starting a 10:30. They plan to bake 800.
A possible source for bread could be the Gardner Bakery in Janesville.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 7:10 PM.
Opening Prayer was given by Kaleigh Dallman-Green County Dairy Queen.
Secretary’s Report: Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the May meeting minutes in the absence of Diane Schlafli. A motion to approve the May 13 meeting minutes was made by Dean Reeson and seconded by Chris Van Dyk. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Pam Burke presented printed copies of the financial report from May 13-July 8 2019. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Chris Van Dyk and seconded by Mike Marean. Motion carried.
Correspondences/Announcements: A thank you notes were made available to read after the meeting.
Dean Reeson and Mike Marean reported on a successful Green County Dairy Days cattle show. The parents and exhibitors expressed appreciation for the premiums hand-out. Some ideas for next year were discussed. Monroe will host Dairy Days in 2020.
Judy Gill reported the past BOTF host family, the Minders and the future host family, the Meier’s, have been getting together to share hosting information. A wrap up meeting date has yet to be set.
Mike Marean reported the winners of the Queens BOTF poster posting contest were: first place $100 to Averey Maren and second place $50 to Emma Striker.
No addition old business discussed.
Preparations for Green County Fair discussed, i.e. cream puff baking, ordering supplies, schedules, etc. Every Green County 4-H exhibitor will receive a T-shirt for the Green County Ag Chest. The Dairy Queens will hand them out on Tuesday during fair check in.
A motion to donate $1500 to the Gr Co State Fair Exhibitors plus $30 to each state fair livestock exhibitor was made by Judy Gill and seconded by Ken Rankin. Motion carried.
Boone County Fair schedule discussed.
Mike Marean gave an overview of the Dairy Judging Team’s trip to Scotland and Ireland and the Royal Highland Show.
Past Queens introduced themselves.
County Queen Chairperson’s Report: Rae Reeson stated the Dairy Queens have busy with radio training. Sign-ups are done through August. Fair schedules are set.
Queens present were: Kaleigh Dallman-Green County Dairy Queen, Samantha McGuire-Green County Dairy Princess, Emileigh Dallman-Albany Dairy Queen, Megan Granberg-Argyle Dairy Queen, Carol Rankin-Belleville Dairy Queen, Aleta Broge-Browntown Dairy Queen, Miah Roth-Juda Dairy Queen, Crystal Meighan-Monroe Dairy Queen, Rylee Disch-Monticello Dairy Queen and Riley Keehn-New Glarus Dairy Queen.
Other Business: No other business brought before the board
A motion to adjourn was made by Judy Gill and was seconded Ken Rankin. Motion carried.
