May 2019 Meeting Minutes

Time: 7:00 PM
Place: Green County Justice Center, Monroe, WI
The Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM. Members present were Craig Kamholz-President, Sue Rieder-Vice President, Diane Schlafli-Secretary, Pam Burke-Treasurer and board members-Dean Reeson, Mya Wahl, and Chris Van Dyki. Members present discussed preparations for the Breakfast on the Farm. Members discussed Alice Dierickx’s request for the big trailer for her auction on June 7th, however the trailer will already be setting up for the Dane County BOTF. License renewals need to be completed for the trailers running June-September. Members also discussed dairy queen poster contest-Averey Marean, 1st, $100.00, Emma Stricker, 2nd, $50.00-paid by Craig Kamholz. Meeting adjourned at 7:05 PM.
The regular meeting of the Green County Ag Chest was called to order by President Craig Kamholz at 7:10 PM.
Opening Prayer was given by Sarah Blumer-Monticello Dairy Queen.
Sue Rieder presented printed copies of the April meeting minutes. A motion to accept the meeting minutes was made by Chris Meier and seconded by Bobbi Stricker. Motion carried.
Pam Burke presented printed copies of the financial report from April 29-May 13, 2019. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Chris Van Dyk and seconded by Dean Reeson. Motion carried.
Correspondences/Announcements: Thank you note from Alice in Dairyland committee was read by Diane Schlafli.
Pam Burke discussed the Alice in Dairyland events throughout this past year and acknowledged Kuhn Knight, Klondike Cheese and Colony Brands for hosting tours .
BOTF updates were given by Judy Gill and Bonnie Gerner. Donations are up this year. Workers and attendees are encouraged to use the shuttle buses. Help is looking good. Food will arrive to Colony on Monday. There is still a need for coffee cakes. Thursday at 2 pm will be egg cracking the Browntown Fire Department-help is needed. Next meeting was scheduled for May 20th at the Minder Farm but was later rescheduled to accommodate Dave Kamholz funeral. Meeting was held on Sunday, May 19 at Albany Lions at 5:00 PM.
Dairy Days updates were given by Pam Lawver and Rae Reeson. The 2 committees, one for the Cattle Show in Monroe and one for Dairy Days in Browntown, are working very hard for a successful Dairy Days this year. Donations are up and planning is going really well. Next meeting is May 16th at the Bull Pen at 6:30 PM.
Craig Kamholz acknowledged this was the last meeting for the Queens and on behalf of the Green County Ag Chest, thanked them and their parents for all the good work they did for the Ag Chest and for the Queens’ Program. Poster contest winners were announced.

County Queen Chairperson’s Report:
Rae Reeson welcomed the candidates. Rae Reeson stated the Dairy Queens and candidates will eat together at 6 am at BOTF before starting their duties. She also reported that the community dairy queen judging would take place on May 18th in Monticello. There are no queen candidates this year for Blanchardville. Rae also thanked the Alice committee for allowing the dairy queens to take part in the Alice in Dairyland festivities.
Queens present were: Brenna Meier-Green County Dairy Queen, Averey Marean-Albany Dairy Queen, Emma Stietz-Blanchardville Dairy Queen, Rileigh Powers-Brodhead Dairy Queen, Ivy Horn-Brooklyn Dairy Queen, Emma Stricker-Browntown-Dairy Queen, Eva Van Dyk-Monroe Dairy Queen, Sarah Blumer-Monticello Dairy Queen and Libby Fuller-New Glarus. Juda, Brodhead and Argyle dairy queens were absent from the meeting. The Queens gave their farewell speeches and introduced their community candidates.
A motion to adjourn was made by Bobbi Stricker and was seconded Ken Renkin. Motion carried.
